The problem

Financial calculators in India are mostly lead-capture traps: partial answers, forced sign-ups, and results skewed toward whatever product the site sells. People making real decisions — a loan, a SIP, a retirement plan — needed a place where the mathematics is the product.

Challenges

Architecture & stack

FinCalix runs on Mokshify's standard production platform: a React front end, calculation logic packaged as a single shared library consumed by both the web app and the Android app (so results agree to the last paisa), service APIs on Node.js, PostgreSQL and Redis at the data layer, and a GitHub Actions pipeline where every release passes tests and an AI review before staged rollout. Static delivery and cache-first design keep calculator pages fast on low-end devices and slow networks — the audience this product exists for.

Lessons learned

Precision is a design language. The most effective trust signal wasn't a badge or a testimonial — it was showing the formula, the assumptions and the same answer on every surface. That principle now shapes how we build every consumer-facing platform.
